

Steven Paul Hendrix, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away on August 19th, 2024, at the age of 75 after a short battle with cancer. He spent his final weeks surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly.
Born on March 6th, 1949, in Independence, Missouri, Steve was the son of Orlow and Lucille (Post) Hendrix. Over the years, he wore many hats and wore them all with pride and grace - provider, husband, father, grandfather, educator, and best friend. His dedication to his family was unwavering, helping to raise seven children and fulfill his dream of building a beautiful home and retiring at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Steve’s creativity knew no bounds. He had a passion for working with his hands, whether it was painting, building motorcycles, customizing cars, working on his boat, landscaping, or designing his house. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and share his vast knowledge and talents with those in need, embodying the true spirit of generosity.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Orlow; his mother, Lucille; his brother, Larry; his beloved wife, Kathy; and his stepson, Troy. He is survived by his sister, Nancy; his brothers, Joe and Jeff; his children, Scott, Todd, Kim, Terry, Shannon, and Taylor; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at Newcomers Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri 64133, on Saturday, September 7th at 10:30 AM. A celebration of life will be held at Fun House Pizza in Independence, MO, at 12 pm. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Please come and share your memories of Steve with those who knew and loved him.
