Sylvia was the sister of Larry Smith, who was Dan's best friend in high school. Sylvia and Dan dated for five years, and when Dan graduated from college, they married 63 years ago. Five and seven years later, they had a daughter, Cindy, and then they had a son, Clint.
Sylvia worked for United Telephone Company (Sprint) for 29 years. She also worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the library and enzyme institute.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Elroy and Helen Smith; her sister, Dee Bishop; and her beloved son, Clinton Daniel Creasy.
Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, James Daniel Creasy; her daughter, Cindy Battaglia; her daughter-in-law, Sabrina Creasy; and her grandchildren, Nicolas Battaglia, Alex Creasy, and Allison Creasy.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, and burial at 12:30 PM at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
