Teresa Ann Baker

Teresa Ann Baker (Rios), of Kansas City, Missouri, gained her wings and went to walk with the angels on March 7th, 2023. Teresa passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on February 7th, 1948 to I. Pat Rios and Teresa Rios. She was born and raised on the West Side of Kansas City, Missouri.

Teresa was the proud mother of two daughters and grandmother to 3 grandchildren that were the light of her life (Anthony Palacio, Kayne Rice, and Lilly Rice). Teresa had a very strong faith in God and a was a devout catholic. She said the Rosary everyday for her loved ones and was always encouraging her friends and family to seek a relationship with God.

Family was everything to her. Teresa was born into a big family and was 1 of 8 Children (1 sister and 6 brothers). Teresa devoted her life to raising her two daughters who survive her (Nicole Rice and Melissa Baker). Despite also working full time, Teresa made sure she was an active mother and stayed busy shuffling her daughters back and forth to dance practices and sporting events. She was always in attendance for her daughters' and grandchildren’s events and was their biggest cheerleader.

Teresa was a hard worker and started her career as a Data Entry specialist at TWA at the age of 18. Teresa worked for TWA for over 30 yrs. In her time at TWA Teresa made lifelong friendships that she carried throughout her whole life.

Teresa was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She is survived by her brothers, Richard Rios, Johnny Rios, Manuel Rios; and sister, Linda Hernandez; and brother-in-law, Eddie Hernandez.

Teresa will missed by so many.

Visitation will be held 9-11 a.m. with the Rosary being prayed at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Avenida Cesar E. Chavez, Kansas City, MO 64108. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately at PR’s Place, 1741 Washington St. Kansas City, MO 64108.
