Teresa was born May 24, 1949 to Louis A. and Helen M. (Schneider) Saluzzi in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in the northland and attended St Charles Grade School and was a 1967 graduate of St. Pius X High School. Teresa was employed at General Hospital and then Commerce Bank where she retired following 40 years of employment. She was a long-time member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where, following retirement, she volunteered at the food pantry, the Right to Life group, and was in the parish choir for many years. Teresa married James Hendrickson in 1974 and they enjoyed many years of happiness until Jim’s passing in 2001. Even though Teresa had no children of her own, she was like a “second mother” to her nephews, nieces and great-nieces.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jim, Teresa was preceded in death by a great nephew, Quentin Underhill, and brother-in-law, John R. Underhill.
Survivors include her sister, Millie Underhill; nephews, John Underhill and wife, Susan, Stephen Underhill, and Philip Underhill; and great nephew, Nicholas Underhill; great niece, Alaxandria Underhill; and her great great-nieces, London Whitaker, Isabella Whitaker, Mia Whitaker, and Lila Kaye Underhill.
Teresa’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to her PA, Julie, and the physicians of KU Medical Center. A special thanks to the choir members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish who visited and brought food to Teresa weekly due to her being homebound for the past two years. Teresa had many friends who participated in Wednesday morning coffee social. She had great fun playing Mexican Train and enjoying family dinners. Teresa had wonderful neighbors, especially Nathan and Julie and Brian, who all watched over her during her illness.
