Ms. Terre Lyn Hunter was born on October 3rd, 1963, to James and Kathleen Mitchell in Kansas City, MO.
Terre’s childhood was spent in Kansas City, MO. In high school, Terre was on the track team and in the band and graduated from Ruskin High School in 1981. Terre lived in various places throughout her life, including Iowa and North Carolina, but eventually moved back to Kansas City, MO. Terre completed some college and obtained her Medical Assistant Degree from Vatterott College. Professionally, Terre worked as a Para-Professional for the Hickman Mills School district, where she was employed for 23 years. During her time with the school district, Terre received many accomplishments for her dedication to the children she worked with and her job. The activities she enjoyed included softball, tennis, and other recreational sports, playing darts, dancing, karaoke, playing pool, bowling, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Her absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with her children, her grandbabies, and her close friends.
She was an amazing, caring, loving, and strong mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who adored her family and friends, loving each one of them with an immense amount of love. One of her greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. She was always supportive and present for every one of her children’s and grandchildren’s events and accomplishments. They were her pride and joy. She was very proud of them. We will miss her unconditional love and will forever treasure every memory that each of us created and shared with her.
Terre was preceded in death by her parents.
She was survived by her two children: James (Lindsay) and Nicole. Her three stepchildren: Brett, Scott (Sam), and Keri (Colton). Her grandchildren: Ralina, Tyler, and Leania. Bonus grandchildren: Brayden, Rylie, Will, and Logan. Her sister: Sherry Mitchell (Marc). Her life-long best friend and sister Erin Acock (Andy).
