

Thelma Aline Drover, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Episcopal Church Home, Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on October 30, 1915 in Hydro, Oklahoma to Will and Ethel Glidewell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Drover, her sisters Opal Hargrave and Audrey Glidewell. Thelma could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. She was class president of her high school, president of the 4H club for four years, Aggie queen in her junior year, and winner of a trip to Chicago as a reward for the top 4H member in her county. She also excelled in the academic field and was summa cum laude for her junior high, high school and college graduating classes. She majored in Math and English, finishing college in three years. She married Jack Drover in 1942 and after living in Nebraska and Oklahoma settled in Kansas City where she taught mathematics for many years. Gardening was one of her passions and there were always vegetables, flowers, and fruit under cultivation. She was an active member of the Colonial Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, Missouri until moving to Camdenton, Missouri where one of her sons lives. Later she moved to Louisville, Kentucky where her daughter lives. Mrs. Drover is survived by her two sons and daughter and their spouses, Don and Kathy, Gary and Janny, Karla and Jeff, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Private family services will be held February 13th in Kansas City at Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
