OBITUARY

Dr. Theodore "Ted" Foster

March 31, 1932May 15, 2020

Theodore F. Foster, DO, of Kansas City, Missouri, at 88 years old, died peacefully of natural causes, at his home.

He spent his final days surrounded by his loving family. On May 15, 2020, Dad went to Jesus where he lives in everlasting glory!

Ted leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Anne Foster, and his five children: Jackie French (husband Alan), Denise Davies (husband Mark), Mary Foster McGautha, Edward Foster and Thomas Foster. He was a proud grandfather of Jade Hamilton (husband Brennan), Adam French (wife Jessica), Sean French (wife Brittany), Katie Cornelius (husband Carter), Shane Davies, Bella Davies, Dominic Davies, Lexi Foster, Rachel Foster, Taylor Keifer, Taylor Hopper and 9 great-grandchildren: Dion, Mia, Giovanni, Raelyn, Louella, Deklyn, Preslee, William and Kinsley.

Ted, Papa Teddy, was a brilliant and compassionate physician and surgeon who loved to heal people. When he was not busy saving lives, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially, if it meant being out in nature, fishing, hunting, visiting the zoo or attending sporting events. He enjoyed the laughter of children, especially, of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren! His beautiful smile and funny faces are forever in our minds and hearts! Papa Teddy is dearly missed but forever cherished!!!

There will be a drive-by visitation at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri from 10:30pm to 12:00pm, on Thursday, May 21. Gravesite services follow at 12:00pm. (Due to limitations, please, contact family if you want to attend). A Memorial Mass celebrating Tedʻs life will follow at a later date to be determined once the Covid-19 restrictions are released. Please, revisit this website to view the future date and details about this Mass.

My condolences to all of you. I have known the Foster & French family for 38 years. I had the pleasure of taking care of Ted in a retirement home. He was a character, funny, kind, loved life. Great family man. He was fun to be around. We shared many great memories. Rip! Ted. P.S . Go to heaven & watch over us all, until we meet again. Prayers for Peace, Love & Strength to all. Love you Jackie & Alan..

Denise and family, how hard it is to lose your Dad from his earthly existence. But from all the shared family photos of your Dad what joy and laughter his memory brings. Because of your strong faith you know you will see him and hug him again.
We love you guys

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of one the major father figures of my youth. Dr. Foster, when I picture you in my head, I always see your mischievous smile and hear your laugh. You were the FUN dad! The one who made us laugh. There are so many memories, perhaps my favorite being the squirrel in the wall (Denise, you will remember this!). Your genuine love of your children and taking joy in sharing time and adventures with them made you a very special father in the era we grew up. This is why their devotion to you never wavered. Because you LOVED them – in good times and bad – with your whole heart. I also admired your work ethic and love of medicine and helping people. You truly loved your work – it was so obviously a passion. You will be sorely missed, but I know that you are in a better place and STILL taking care of your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as their guardian angel. God bless you and I love you.
