

Thomas V. Fennesy, P.E., 83, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 6th, 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes, Kansas City, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the Mass, where the Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Seton Center, 2816 East 23rd Street, Kansas City, MO 64127.
Tom was born August 10, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charlotte and Jack Fennesy. He graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1950, served in the Air Force and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant during the Korean conflict. In 1957, he married Marilyn Carrigan. Tom graduated from KU in 1959 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked over 50 years for Lutz, Daily & Brain. He was a member of the Serra Club, an avid golfer and very devoted to his family and to the Catholic faith.
Tom was preceded in death by his siblings; Mary Schranz, Norita Riehle, Helen Blinzler, Ed Fennesy and John Fennesy. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Fennesy; children; Vince (Danette) Fennesy, Jerry (Amy) Fennesy, Jack (Leah) Fennesy, and Nancy (Mike) Monaghan; sister, Charlotte King; grandchildren; Dan, Kyle, Patti, Sean, Tom, Don, Jaime, Coleman, Katie (Joe), Marie, Sean and one great-grandchild on the way.
