Thomas "Tom" Charles Laterra

Thomas “Tom” Charles Laterra, age 68, of Kingsville, MO formally of Blue Springs, MO passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at his home. Tom was born December 15, 1952, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Carl J. and Charlotte R. (Gossard) Laterra.

Tom grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from East High School. He was employed by KCPL for 44 years and retired from there. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, watching all sports on TV especially the Kansas City Chiefs. Tom was very independent and handy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as they were very important to him.

He is survived by his daughter: Cammie (husband: Jason) Miller of Lee’s Summit, MO, sister: Kathy Pyron of Orlando, FL, four grandchildren: Trent, Trevor, Tanner and Alexis Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: George and John Laterra, and former wife LaDonna McCorkendale.

A visitation for Tom will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2 PM at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. Interment and Committal services will be following the service at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Highway 50, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the American Liver Foundation in memory of Tom Laterra.
