Thomas E. Purnell, 81, of Stilwell, Kansas, passed away March 28, 2013. Tom was born May 18, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Galesburg, Illinois High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951. Tom retired from the FAA in 1986 as a Computer Specialist. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Stilwell. He leaves behind his loving wife, Laura, of 57 years, two children Kathryn Graves and James Purnell, and brother Richard Purnell. Grandchildren Trisha Person and Russell Bishop, seven great-grandchildren, extended family and friends also survive. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 29 at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at the funeral home. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
