Born September 28, 1942, in Sidney, Nebraska to Lucille and Thomas Quilty Sr., Thomas's family eventually relocated to Kansas City, Kansas, where he spent his formative years. He was a proud graduate of Turner High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Thomas spent much of his professional career working as a Produce Manager, where his commitment and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on his colleagues and the community he served. In his free time, he cherished spending time with his wife, loved sneaking snacks to his dog, Baby, and was a passionate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Royals and KU Basketball.
Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved parents Lucille and Thomas Quilty Sr., his sister Shirley and his grandsons Kingston Hinson & Caleb Martin.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce, his children; Melissa, Beth and Joanna, his grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and fun.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. Luke's Hospice for the exceptional care, comfort and compassion they provided to Thomas in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Thomas's memory at a visitation which will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, on May 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on May 15, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Committal Service with Full Military Honors will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, on May 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
