

Tommy Crews, 90, of Independence, MO, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2015. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Floral Hills. Burial will follow. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6-8pm, at the chapel.
Tom was born in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on August 19, 1925. After graduating from Eureka Springs High School, he served in the China Burma India Theater with the Army Air Corps during WWII. Shortly after his discharge he moved to Kansas City to work for TWA before gaining employment at General Motors.
During this time, he met and married the love of his life, Blanche Irene Littlepage. They raised three sons, Brad, Kevin and Dennis. Tom and Blanche were both very active in their church, where Tom was a Deacon, treasurer, handy man and Boy Scout Leader for many years. Tom retired from GM in 1978 and he and Blanche traveled and enjoyed life together.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Blanche, in 2011; two infant sons, Thomas and Lonnie, and his siblings: Elbert, Everett and Helen. Survivors include sons: Brad (Jeanette), Kevin (Melanie), and Dennis; brother: Gary (Mary Jane); grandchildren: Jason (Larene), Lori, Kerri (Joe); eight great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.
