Vera Gonzales, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on February 11, 1952, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Raymond and Anise Filer, Vera was known for her kind-hearted and devoted nature.
Vera worked as a secretary for many years. Her dedication and commitment to her work were admired by all who knew her.
She was married to Phillip Gonzales, who predeceased her in 2015. Their marriage was a testament to love and devotion.
Vera is survived by her daughters, Theresa Cornejo, Racheal Anderson, and Tina Gonzales, as well as her sons, Phillip Gonzales, Jr., and Jessie Gonzales. Additionally, Vera is survived by several grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, on December 17, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at the same venue from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The committal service will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, also at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, from 1:00 pm to 1:15 pm.
