Vernon Alvin (Ab) Williams, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 22nd, at Research Medical Center. He was born on March 26th, 1932, in Sugar Grove, AR. Vernon lived in Kansas City, MO, when he met his first wife, Shirley Ann Snow. They married on August 25th, 1951, and had two daughters, Vikki and Sharri.
His second marriage was in 1970 to Nancy Wallace whom he met while working together at Burstein-Applebees Electronics Store. Vernon adopted Nancy’s son, Paul, and also had two daughters, Adina and Alisa. They lived in Collinsville, OK.
He then married his third wife Wilma Hughes. They moved to Fort Worth Texas in 1984, and had his fifth daughter, Heather.
Vernon worked for the City of Fort Worth as a Transportation Department Supervisor for 18 years until his retirement in 2002. In 2014, Vernon moved back to Kansas City to live the remainder of his life with his son Paul, and his daughter-in-law, Sandra.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Faye and Willie Edgar Williams; his brothers, Buren Burl Williams and Doyle Larry Williams; one sister, Wanda Nell Williams Thornton; and his son, Paul Allen Williams.
Survivors include his brothers, Billy Joe Williams and Julius Cozzatti; his daughters, Victoria Ann Williams (Aaron Riggs), Sharron Faye Williams, Adina Renee Grimm (Jason), Alisa Rae Gannon (Stephen), Heather Williams; and his daughter-in-law, Sandra Williams. Vernon also leaves behind 16 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews that all love him very much!
Vernon requested no funeral services upon his death. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA), www.MOCSA.org
