There will be visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Thursday, September 14th, with funeral service at 2:00 PM, at the Vivion Road Church of Christ, 2026 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO 64118. Additional services will be at the Mt. Judea Cemetery in Mt. Judea, Arkansas.
Vetle was born January 10, 1933 to Dewey P. and Mable Laura (Holt) Lane in Hasty, Arkansas. He was raised in the Mt. Judea area and moved to the Kansas City area in 1959. While in high school, Vetle was a well-known basketball player. Vetle served in the U.S. Army in May of 1953 and was honorable discharged in 1955. For more than 42 years he worked as an excavator for Esther Williams Pools. On June 16, 1956 he married Laura Jane McCutcheon. They made their home in Trimble, MO.
In addition to his parents, Vetle was preceded in death by a younger brother, Lewell Lane, and his youngest son, Dale A. Lane.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Laura of the home; 3 children, Deborah (Richard) Mautino of Kansas City, MO, Danny (Denise) Lane of Breckenridge, MO, and Darrell Lane of Trimble, MO; 5 brothers and sisters, Hildred Heany of Windsor, MO, Rhilda Ricketts of Mt. Judea, AR, Mildred (Wendell) Sneed of Harrison, AR, Cecil (Mary) Lane of Kansas City, MO, and Glen (Sally) Lane of Springfield, MO; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
