Vicki Joann Schaedel

Vicki Joann Schaedel, 74, passed away on June 2, 2026. Born December 23, 1951, Vicki was the daughter of Joseph and Linda Pearson. She grew up in the Kansas City area. Throughout her life, she was deeply beloved—known for a faithful spirit and a kind-hearted way of caring for others that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Vicki worked for American Family Insurance at the drive in’s claims office, where she took great pride in her work. She valued the opportunity to meet and speak with all kinds of people, and her steady compassion was evident in the way she treated those who came through the office—listening, helping, and making others feel seen and respected.

On February 10, 1968, Vicki married the love of her life, Leonard Schaedel. Together they raised two children and many pets, building a home shaped by devotion, warmth, and the everyday expressions of love that define a life well lived.

Vicki found joy in interior decorating and shopping for décor, and she had a special gift for making others feel cherished—especially through the thoughtful gifts she chose and gave. Evenings often included true crime shows, music, and the simple comfort of familiar routines. An amazing cook and baker, Vicki delighted in preparing special foods and desserts for everyone, offering care in the form of a favorite dish or a lovingly made treat. She also loved nature, listening to birds sing, and taking her dog Ellie for walks. She treasured time spent by her pool or on the lake.

Vicki is preceded in passing by her parents; two sisters, Donna and Theresa; and her son, Phillip Schaedel. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Schaedel; her sister, Carol Jester (Jesse); her daughter, Lisa Garrett; her granddaughters, Jordan, Nina, Ava, and Jada; her great grandson, Brooks; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
