Vicki Lee Schroeder

Born on July 5, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas, Vicki was raised in Raytown, Missouri, where she developed the compassion, dedication, and love for others that would define her life.

Vicki earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg and later received her master's degree from Webster University. She devoted 29 years to the Raytown School District as a teacher at Southwood Elementary School, spending most of her career as a beloved first-grade teacher. She found great joy in helping young students learn and grow, leaving a lasting impact on generations of children and their families.

On her life's journey, Vicki shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, David. Together they built a loving family centered on faith, kindness, and service. She was a lifelong Methodist whose faith guided her throughout her life. She was also an active member of various professional and service organizations and generously gave her time and talents to causes close to her heart. Among her many contributions, she organized numerous trivia party fundraisers benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Vicki found happiness in teaching, crafting, traveling, attending the theater, and creating treasured memories with family and friends. She had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and was known for her warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering love for those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jackie Hansen.

Vicki is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, David Schroeder; her daughters, Sarah (Eric) Eckhoff and Anna (Kevin) Lemen; her cherished grandchildren, Ella, Allison, and Walter Eckhoff; and her sister, Lynn Hansen. She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, former students, and colleagues who will forever cherish her memory.

Vicki's legacy is one of love, service, education, and faith. She touched countless lives through her career as an educator and through her kindness to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133 on Wednesday, August 5th 2026 at 10:00AM, preceded by a visitation at 9:00AM. Burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens to follow.
