

Vincent Ramirez, Jr., 54, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, May 17, 2004. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22 at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Church, 2544 Madison, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friday at the church, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.
Vincent was born on January 23, 1950, to Vincent Sr. and Marcelina Basquez Ramirez. He graduated from Lillis High School in 1968, served in the Air Force, worked for Burlington Northern (Santa Fe) Railroad, for 27 years, and was a member of I.A.M. Local Union #356. He also attended Penn Valley, Johnson County Community College, and UMKC. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Victoria Yslas, and his great-nephew Edward Felix Valdivia. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Mary Jane (Tinoco); three sons, John and his wife Kristi, Jason and Justin Ramirez, of the home; four sisters, Virginia Najar, Beatrice Eisenhower, Gloria Rodriguez, and Rosina Valdivia; brother John Joseph Ramirez; five grandchildren, Samantha, Christian, Jayden, Jorden, and Kaylee, along with many nieces and nephews. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts and in our prayers.
