Vincent Simpson

Vincent J Simpson, 84, Kansas City, MO, passed away September 28, 2011 at the Missouri Veterans Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday October 3, 2011 at St Gabriel’s Catholic Church with a visitation from 9-10AM. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery at 2:30PM. Vince was born April 19, 1927 in Madison, South Dakota to George and Kathryn Simpson. He graduated from St Thomas High School, Madison, SD. After High School he served in the US Navy during WWII. He graduated from the University South Dakota and UMKC School of Law with a Jurist Doctorate. He worked for Commercial Union Insurance until he retired. He was preceded in death by his brothers Eugene and James Simpson. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Simpson; his five children, Barbara O’Roark, Christine (Kenneth) Selby, Stephen Simpson, Patricia (Tom) Caby, and Carolyn (Kenneth) Kilgore; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers; Elwood (Eileen) Simpson, Fr. Maurs Simpson, John (Freya) Simpson. Vince enjoyed reading and learning. He loved his faith and everyone around him. From the rocks in the ground to the stars in the sky, he learned about them all.
