Virginia C. Garrison

Virginia Claire Garrison, 88, Leawood, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 12th, 2013. Virginia was born on November 26, 1924 in Junction City, Kansas, the daughter of Ira and Valerie Huntington and raised in Salina, Kansas. She graduated from Salina High School in 1943 and from Colorado Women’s College in 1945. She was married to Robert (Bob) Garrison for 57 years. They made their home in the Kansas City area all of their married life.

Virginia enjoyed being a housewife and mother. She was a member of: PEO Sisterhood (Chapter F), Daughters of American Revolution, Leawood Women’s Club, Grandview Study Club, as well as other organizations. She was also a long-time member of the Colonial Presbyterian Church.

Along with her parents and sister Betty, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her three children and their families, Robert Garrison II of St. Louis, Missouri; Larry Garrrison Kansas City, Missouri; and Gregg Garrison of Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cottey College, 1100 West Austin, Nevada, Missouri 64772, or Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Memorial Services will be held at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 95th and Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday, January 16th, at 2:00 p.m. Friends may greet the family at the Church following the services.
