

Virginia Reid (Robinson) McMullen, 85, of Kansas City, MO, passed away December 14, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Second Presbyterian Church, 318 E. 55th St., Kansas City, MO 64113. Private burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crittenton Children’s Center, 10918 Elm Ave, Kansas City, MO 64134. Virginia was born December 30, 1928 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Reid Vance & Mary Myrtle (Crites) Robinson. She attended Belhaven College in Jackson, MS, where she learned to be a lady. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 1952 at the University of Oklahoma. Virginia was a gifted and talented calligrapher at Hallmark Cards prior to having her children. She was a longtime member of Second Presbyterian Church. Virginia was a diehard OU fan who was always outspoken about KU rivalry. She would stop people wearing KU fan gear and say “Boomer Sooner!” Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Robert S. McMullen in 1992. She is survived by her daughter Laura Sue McMullen; son Robert R. McMullen and wife Paula; grandchildren: Samuel, Nathaniel and Savannah. Virginia will be remembered as a graceful and selfless individual who was an eternal optimist. She walked in love, kindness, wisdom, generosity and was known for her pure unselfishness and grace. Her spirit will always be shiny and new. Mom, there are no words to express how deeply and completely your everlasting love will continue to guide us. You are beautiful!
