

Virginia “Ginny” Gail McGuire Standifer, 69 Ginny, 69 of Grain Valley, MO passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2015. She was a loving wife, mom, and nana. Daughter of Woodrow “Woody” and Hazel McGuire, Ginny was the oldest of four daughters. She was born July 15, 1946 in Boonville, MO. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1965. She was a Ward Secretary at Truman Medical Center West. She moved on to be a Claims Adjuster with GEHA and retired in 2001 after 20+ years. On May 6, 1972 Ginny married the love of her life, Bob Standifer, they celebrated 43 wonderful years. She was a loving mom to two children, Chris and Tanya. With loving arms she welcomed two In-Laws, Amy and Rex. The light of her life were her grandchildren, Chelsea and Drew Standifer, Brianna, Vanessa, and Andrea Riley. Ginny enjoyed life and loved time with her family. Her hobbies included traveling, scrapbooking, writing and reading. Oh, and all you can eat crab legs. Ginny is survived by husband, Bob Standifer of the home; son, Chris Standifer (Amy) of Lake Lotawana, MO; daughter, Tanya Riley (Rex) of Ravenwood, MO; five grandchildren, Chelsea and Drew Standifer, Brianna, Vanessa and Andrea Riley; two sisters, Nancy McGuire of Leawood, KS and Linda Small of Lancaster, MO. She was preceded in death by her sister, Candy Russell; father and mother, Woody and Hazel McGuire. Visitation will be Tues., Aug. 25 from 6-8pm with services on Wed. at 10am, both at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow services at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Luncheon following at Elks Lodge in Blue Springs, MO.
