Virginia M Swango

Virginia “Ginny” Rowse Swango, 99, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at the Church of the Resurrection Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS 66224. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Silver Link Ministries at the Church of the Resurrection.

Ginny was born October 12, 1916, in Beaver Falls, PA to George and Lena (Jones) Barstow. She was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School. On August 5, 1942, she married William R. Rowse, Sr. who preceded in her in death. They lived in Beaver, PA for 40 years. Later, Ginny resided in the Clearwater, FL area for 20 years. On her 75th birthday, she married Walter “Shorty” Swango who preceded her in death. In 2002 Ginny relocated to Leawood, KS. Survivors include her daughter, Ginny (Irwin) Kirsch, and her son, Bill (Sally) Rowse; her grandchildren: Susan (Chuck) Wintermute, David Kirsch, and Reed Rowse; her great grandchildren: Kirstin, Alyssa and Danielle Wintermute; Will and Elli Kirsch; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
