Visitacion Bentulan Alemania Quiñones-Jalbuena, fondly known as “Tacing,” 85, passed away peacefully at the home on August 20, 2018. She was born on July 3, 1933 in Bontoc Hindang Leyte, Philippines. She came to the United States in 1955. She married Marcelo Quiñones in December, 1955. She became an
American citizen in 1961 by completing the Department of Justice naturalization process. Her first job was as in the shirt factory at Woolf Brothers. In 1969 she was a postal clerk for the
U.S. Postal Service, and she retired from there in 2003. She married Cito Jalbuena in July, 2003.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for 47 years, the Filipino Association of Greater Kansas City since its incorporation, and the Raytown Lions Club for 15 years.
Tacing was preceded in death by her parents, Higino and Felicidad Bentulan Alemania; brothers, Inocencio, Felimon Casimiro, Cornelio, Artemio, Lupe, Santos and Genaro; sisters, Porforia and Concepcion; and husbands Marcelo B. Quiñones (1984) and Aniceto Jalbuena (2014).
She is survived by her children, Marcelo A. Quiñones (Tina), Emily Kalthoff (James) and Julie Dobson
(Kent); grandchildren, Tiffany, Victoria, Malachi and Phoenix; and great-grandchildren, Dakota,
Makenzie, Gunner, Leo and Stetson.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5-6:30pm with Rosary at 6:30pm at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Redemptorist Catholic Church, 3333 Broadway, KCMO. Burial at Mt Olivet Cemetery, KCMO.
