She was born November 25, 1944, to Hannah and Haywood “Speedy” Hayes of Little Rock, AR, and lived in Missouri all her adult life. She resided in Independence, MO after marrying the love of her life, Dale Harper. Wanda was a graduate of Fuller High School in Little Rock, AR, and went to Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR.
She is survived by her sister Carolyn “Sue” (Jerry) Richardson of Little Rock, and a long list of nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Dale Harper, her parents Haywood Alexander Hayes and Hannah Faye (Teer) Hayes, sister Mary Frances Pogue, sister Polly Ann McDowa, and brother James (Jimmy) Haywood Hayes.
Wanda will be laid to rest aside with her husband Dale Harper at Rose Hill Cemetery, 605 Division St, Breckenridge, MO 64625, on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10:30 am. There will be a memorial service in Little Rock, AR, a celebration of Wanda’s life on April 12th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Archview Baptist Church, 12610 Arch Street Pike, Little Rock, AR 72206.
