

Wanda Johnson, 88, passed peacefully to her savior June 23, 2016 at home. Services will be held Sunday June 26th at 1pm with a visitation one hour prior to service at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Garden. She was born April 18, 1928 to Ady Clarence & Bessie Thompson in Kincaid, KS. After leaving Kincaid she lived in Kansas City, MO. She married Bobby Gene Johnson February 19, 1947. She was a cook most of her life. In 1961 she left Kansas City to become the owner of Lakeview Heights Resort in Lake of the Ozarks for 10 years, moving on then to a farm in Stover, MO. She was head cook at Stover School for many years. After her husband Bob was battling ALS they returned to the Independence area in 1980. After his death in 1982 she went to work at Wal-Mart until she retired at the age of 72. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Indep. & was baptized there. In 2003 she moved to the Pleasant Hill area where she made her home. She attended Abundant Life Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit. Survivors include son Art “Lucky” Johnson (Mary) of Pleasant Hill, MO; two daughters, Sandy Nichols (Jack) of Lee’s Summit and Jeanie Lutjen of Lake of the Ozarks; As well as 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
