Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Leawood, Kansas, son Mark R. (Karen) David of Ipswich, MA, daughter Ann David of Mission, KS, son Kurt (Kathy) David of Lenexa, KS and grandchildren Jennifer David of New Orleans, LA, Charlotte David of, Ipswich, MA, and Hayden David of Olathe, KS and a brother Tom (Judy) David of New Orleans, LA.
Wayne graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Agronomy in 1955. He served 2 years in the US Army Signal Corps and Army Security Agency at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. After discharge, he worked for Cargill, Inc. in the grain division as a terminal elevator superintendent and Western Regional Superintendent for 40+ years. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking and travel. He traveled to Alaska three times, driving twice on the Alaskan Highway and once via the Alaskan Maritime System along the Inside Passage. He drove the entire Canadian Highway #1 from West to East and to nearly all the states in the US. With the KSU Traveling Wildcats, he and Sandra toured Russia, China and Italy. The joy of his life were his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of Church of the Resurrection and the Masonic Lodge of Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Habitat for Humanity, the Agriculture Department of Kansas State University or the charity of your choice.
