

She was born on May 16, 1928, to Walter and Ellen Hill, in Hanover CO. Wilberta was the middle child and only girl; 3 older brothers, Wilbur, Hubert, Kenneth three younger brothers, John, Chester and Ervin all raised in and around Butler MO on the family farm. Wilberta married Gordon W Muchmore, of Adrian MO,in 1948, a World War II veteran of the US Navy, and raised three daughters; Janice Conner of Raytown, Ruby Roper of Kansas City, and Donna Stoneman of Lee's Summit. 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren bless this large, wide-spread, fun-loving, raucous family.
Gordon and Wilberta were members of the Raytown Church of Christ, serving faithfully since 1955. Gordon served as Treasurer for the Church; Wilberta conducted ladies Bible classes, organized family meals after funerals, taught Sunday School classes, second grade, and served in countless behind-the-scene ways that blessed all she encountered.
Wilberta's parents, 5 of her 6 brothers, her beloved husband of 60 years and, 2 infant grandchildren, all predeceased her. Ervin Hill, of Joplin MO, is her only surviving brother. Two sisters-in-law, Wilma Hill, and Barbara Hill also survive.
A visitation for Wilberta will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM and will be followed by a graveside committal service at Floral Hills Cemetery.
