It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Willia Moselle Cantrell, on August 18, 2024 at the age of 99. Born on February 28, 1925 to Loyd and Lela Kollenburn in Carthage, MO. She was the oldest sibling of three sisters. She adored her younger sisters Laura Lee and Bernita and was the cherished matriarch of our family.
Willia Moselle Cantrell was known for her unwavering love, kindness, and strength. She devoted her life to her family, teaching music to children and offering guidance and support to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her warm smile and infectious laughter will be sorely missed.
After graduating from high school, Moselle attended Southwest Baptist University, where she graduated with honors and was awarded The Life Beautiful Award in 1945. Following her graduation, she married her college sweetheart, Paul Cantrell, on June 22nd, 1947. Together they built a beautiful life in Liberty, MO, and they welcomed their sons, Dean and Mark Cantrell, in 1952 and 1955.
A devoted member of her church and sunday school teacher, Moselle dedicated her life to her faith and her passion for teaching music and music therapy at the Joan Davis School for the Deaf and Blind in Kansas City, MO. Her love for music was a testament to her unwavering faith in God, and her musical abilities inspired countless students with her compassion and dedication to her piano playing well into her early 90's.
She is survived by her son Mark and his family, along with many dear friends and relatives who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness. Her passing follows that of her beloved husband Paul and son Dean in 2016, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her celebration of life will be held on September 14, 2024 at Mark and Sandra Cantrell's residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A-flat Youth Orchestra at https://aflatmusicstudio.com/Donationpage.htm, in her honor.
Rest in peace, dear Willia Moselle Kollenburn-Cantrell. Your love and faith will remain in our hearts forever.
