A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119.
Bill was born was on February 10, 1960 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Sanborn and Elizabeth (Sam and Libby) Cook.
Bill’s journey took him from Grand Island, Nebraska; to Omaha, Nebraska; to Sabetha, Kansas; to Clinton, Missouri; and finally Kansas City, Missouri. He made an unforgettable impression on everyone he met along the way. His twinkling eyes, welcoming smile, and his outstretched hand meant no one was a stranger to Bill.
Throughout life, Bill’s love of people, care, and hospitality was present is every career he followed. He worked many jobs, including being a Reserve Police Officer for Clinton, MO Police Department, Owner and Operator of El Sambre Restaurant, limousine driver for KC Agenda, and most recently, a 20+ year career with Southwest Airlines.
Bill made it his purpose in life to lift the spirits of those around him. His enthusiasm was contagious and his voice captured the attention of any room he entered. If someone had a need, Bill was always ready to fulfill it.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Jessica Elizabeth Cook; granddaughter, Kynlee Marie Cook; his partner, Patricia “Patty” Lentz; brothers, Sam (Phyllis) Cook and Jim (Cindy) Cook; sister, Nancy Choquette (Stacy Scott Wheeler) and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and life-long friends.
