Tough as nails and larger than life... his booming voice and sometimes gruff exterior hiding a big heart. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.

In our Mass Mutual days I remember the "white elephant" gift parties. Bill always wrapped his prize mounted fish--hung with bailing wire- in an elegant package. He had such great fun giving that terrible thing away. He was one of a kind. The Degen family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

We were so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. Growing up, I always called him, Mr. Degen, and he always had a kind word, a quick whit and a firm handshake. What a good guy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
God Bless

Dear Mrs. Degen and Family,

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Degen's passing. I am sure he didn't quite know what to do with Taffy's friends from KU, but we did know and respect him for his humor and generosity.

Thanks again for the great times at the lake and in KC.

with love

I was saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I have such fond memories of our years as next-door-neighbors; especially of the kids coming over for Grandma's cookies! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

Bill Degen was my sunday school teacher in the 2nd grade at Village Church. We learned to sing "How Great Thou Art" so he could impress Steve Gladicks. Taffy I know you have many fond memories of Village Church and my Dad enjoyed a great friendship with your dad.
