William A. Larkin, 88, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away February 16, 2013 at Timberlake Care Center. Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. followed by visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Entombment in Faith Mausoleum at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A. Reed Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64138. Mr. Larkin was born May 22, 1924 in Trinidad, Colorado, son of Cecil and Mildred (Peck) Larkin. He taught swimming survival in the Merchant Marines. He had worked for various trucking companies in managerial positions, primarily with IML for 25 years and Riss. He was very proud and happy of the hole-in-one made on November 2002 at St. Andrews on the 14th hole. Mr. Larkin was a member of the Red Bridge Men’s Bridge Club, loved jazz music, and all sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joanne Belknap. Mr. Larkin is survived by his wife of 60 years Jean Larkin; daughters Becky (Vernon) Lipp and Lisa Fleming; son Mike (Jackie) Larkin; grandchildren Scott Lipp and Erin Lipp; great-grandchild Niko Lipp; extended family and friends.
