William J. Louis, Ph.D. died peacefully and in God’s love on February 1, 2015. He was born and raised in upstate New York. He started his adult life serving in the US Army in Korea. He earned his MA from Boston College and his Ph.D. from Stanford University in Speech and Theater and Humanities. He traveled extensively, finally settling in Kansas City, where he taught for many years at Avila University. He was a drama teacher, and actor, a poet, a sculptor and a painter. Much of his art was pursued in the glory and praise of the Lord and was expressive of God’s love for us. He was a kind and loving friend to many people, all of who will miss him and his friendship deeply. Godspeed Bill.
We will celebrate Bill’s life at a memorial mass at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at St Thomas More Church, located at 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
