William Henry McDonald

William H. McDonald (Bill), 88, died on June 10, 2015 in Overland Park, Kansas. William was born in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Fredrick Houston McDonald and Catherine Bergen McDonald. Bill met the love of his life, Maxine A. Kuhlmann, at the K.C. Union Station, they were married for 42 years until her death in 1989.

Bill is survived by his children, Karen Orick, Kris Cary (Wayne), Brian McDonald, Kathy Sapp, and Bradley McDonald (Tamara), 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, his first son, William McDonald (Billy), a daughter who died in infancy, Gwyn, his sister, Mary Margaret Schulte and his brother, Charles McDonald.

Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. After spending the first half of his working career in the banking business, he started and managed his own company, McDonald Business Forms until he retired in 1992. Bill will be remembered for his passion and remarkable memory for telling stories about his rich life experiences and the history of Kansas City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 15th at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church at 11822 Holmes Road. Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM with The Rosary at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery at 10507 Holmes.
