William (Bill) Rezin, 89, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away peacefully April 27th 2026. Funeral services will be May 8th, 2026 at Floral Hills in Kansas City, beginning with visitation at 9:00 AM and celebration of life at 10 AM. Graveside service will take place at Newcomer’s-East, Lee’s Summit at 11 AM.
Bill was born to Ann and Joseph Rezin June 17th, 1936 in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. His father owned a garage where he would do body work and car repair, and Bill and his brother were known to work there helping out their father.
In 1958, Bill enlisted in the Army Reserves, where he served for six years and was honorably discharged at the rank of E-5. During his service, he was trained in communications and developed expertise in electrical systems, specializing in radar repair. This experience laid the foundation for his career at Western Electric, later AT&T, where he designed telephone components. While working full-time, Bill also pursued higher education, earning a Master’s Degree in Marketing through night school. He retired from AT&T after a dedicated 33-year career.
Bill was married to his wife, Betty, for 44 years. They met while working at AT&T and went on to build a home together in Lee’s Summit, for their blended family. Bill had two daughters, Sandra and Karrie, from a previous marriage, and Betty had one son from a previous marriage, Jeffrey. Together, they were active members of several churches over the years, forming lasting friendships wherever they went. Bill and Betty were devoted grandparents, rarely missing a sporting event or school activity. They also shared a love of travel, visiting 28 countries together throughout their marriage.
Bill was well known to be the person to go to if anything needed to be fixed, from the car, appliances, electrical devices, lawn care to construction. He was the guy. Bill was interested in flying and took lessons to fly a single engine plane. Bill was a very calculating thinker but still had the best sense of humor. He loved a good joke, especially if it involved a little figuring out.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Joseph Rezin, and his wife Betty Rezin.
He is survived by his daughter Sandra (John), daughter Karrie (Tim), and son Jeff (Tracey); his brother Joseph (Joyce); his nephews Bill and Michael; and his niece Valerie. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Ashley (Keegan), Melissa, Scott, Brett (Madison), Larissa, Kailey, Kavan (Daniele), and Erin (Austin); as well as his great-grandchildren Cooper, Hayden, Gracelynn, Nolan, Eleanor, Lukas, and Ada.
