Bill was born in Baltimore, MD and was raised in Dundalk, MD where he met and married his wife of 56 years, Dee. He worked for Bayer Corporation for 25 years, living and working in Dayton, OH; South Bend, IN; Houston, TX, retiring as a plant maintenance manager in 2001. He then lived in Indianapolis, IN and finally in Kansas City, MO to be closer to family. Bill enjoyed boating, building model train layouts, woodworking and using his engineering talents in many household projects. Bill also enjoyed square dancing, traveling, entertaining with friends, grilling and anything that allowed him to be with his wife. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bill also loved and spoiled the dogs he never wanted.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marie and a brother, Don. Survivors include his beloved wife, Dolores; 3 daughters, Denise, Sandy and her husband, Randy and Leah and her husband, Michael; 4 grandchildren, Ava, Nathan, Tessa and Lyla; a sister-in-law, Jan.
Visitation will be held from 11AM – 12PM on Saturday, May 7th, at McGilley State Line Chapel followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 (Noon). Inurnment will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Ascend Hospice of Kansas City or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
