William H. "Bill" Wegener, 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Wilshire at Lakewood Nursing Home in Lee's Summit, MO. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Bill was born in Higginsville, MO. to Effie and Arthur Wegener. A WWII veteran, he served on the USS Wichita and participated in 13 major invasions. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Fortner, Carol Deatherage and Donna Meyer, a brother, Donald and an infant son, Timothy. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Alberta Wegener, two sons, William "Matt" and Arthur (Mary Ann), grandson Michael and granddaughter Jessica. He also leaves behind two brothers, Ralph and Barrett (Joy), and Brother-in-law Bob Komm (Phrana) and many nieces and nephews.
