
Zartar Hatutian, age 85, Singer Island, Florida, formerly of Kansas City, MO, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Hospice of Palm Beach Gardens. Zartar was born July 2, 1928 in Chavieu-Chavagneux, Frances to Toros and Victoria Chadian. She came to Kansas City, in 1951 where she graduated from Paseo High School in 1956. Zartar worked for the Borel Watch Company for a few years before she met her “honey Jahn” Zaven Hatutian in 1958. They married in 1959 and had three children: Gary, David and Jennifer in Kansas City. Zartar was a devoted mother to her family. She was especially loved for her wonderful Armenian cooking, and especially for her homemade pizza Saturday nights. She loved picnics with the family and friends and camping trips to National Parks in the summer. In 1985 Zartar and Zaven began spending winters in Florida in their RV eventually settling into their condo in Singer Island, FL in 1991. Zartar was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Christophe, sisters Mary and Alice. She is survived by her husband Zaven, children Gary (Nancy), David and Jennifer (Bill); grandchildren Emily, Michael, Raffi, Christina, Kati, Adrienne, Theresa; one great-granddaughter, Acacia; brother Arthur of Decines, France, sisters Gabrielle and Marguerite, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews in France. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at St. Garabed Armenian Church, 4400 Wyoming, Kansas City, Missouri 64111. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Friends may call 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 25 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Garabed Armenian Church.
