

Adelaide Ruth Fisher, daughter of Clifford Berrien and Clara Upchurch, was born January 31, 1934 in Borger, Texas and passed away on September 30, 2018 at the age of 84. She graduated from Borger High School in 1952 and then from Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas in 1954 with an Associate in Arts degree. She then transferred to University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a Teaching degree in Elementary Education.
Gary Duane Fisher and Adelaide Ruth Berrien were married on February 3, 1956 in Borger, Texas. Adelaide taught school in Austin and while Gary served in the Navy until 1961. They started raising a family and by 1963 had three children. After Gary served in the Navy, they moved to Houston and lived in the Rice University area for many years. Later moving out to Fulshear in 2006 to be closer to grandchildren. After Gary passed away in late 2016, Adelaide moved to Autumn Leaves in Katy where she flourished, remaining sweet as ever and singing away.
Adelaide was an avid tennis player and played doubles in the HLTA throughout her life. She enjoyed crocheting anything and everything from booties to blankets to placemats. She loved to cook as long as someone else did the cleaning. She and Gary traveled to Tokyo, on an Alaska cruise and on many family trips to Hawaii. She had a passion for music and singing and was active in the church and choirs at St John’s Presbyterian Church until they moved to Fulshear and joined the First United Methodist Church and choir.
Adelaide is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gary. She is survived by her sisters Molly Hutchinson and June Kaderli; son and daughter-in-law Gary Fisher Jr. and Maureen Fisher; daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and Randall Cedeňo; son Scott Fisher; grandchildren Mary Lauren Fisher Krajcir, Katelyn Reading, Michael Cedeňo and Thomas Cedeňo.
