

Alleen Scott Meinecke passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Katy, Texas, at the age of 94. Alleen was born January 23, 1931, in Llano, Texas, to Edward Scott and Lillie Kott Scott. She married William “Bill” Meinecke on February 14, 1953. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Alleen grew up in Kerrville, Texas, graduated from Tivy High School and Schreiner Institute, now Schreiner University, where she met Bill, the love of her life. Alleen worked at Brehmers Jewelry in Kerrville for several years. Alleen and Bill built a life together full of love, adventure, and faith, which spanned over seven decades. They raised a family while living in several cities and states, cherishing each new chapter of their journey and the friendships they made along the way. Together, they traveled the world, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.
Alleen is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Meinecke, and her children, Gerald Meinecke (wife Bridey), Susan Lanzini (husband Robert), and Jeffrey Meinecke (wife Mechel). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: Ross, Lauren (husband Michael, children Laci and Mia), Neal (wife Allie, children Audrey and Nora), Nicole (husband Jason), Brianna, Megan (husband Jackson), Abbie, Erin, Melanie (daughter Lucy), Mitchell, and Monique. She is survived by her brother, William Scott (wife Barbara), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alleen was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Lou “Debbie” Meinecke; brother, Edward Scott Jr.; sister-in-law Ruth Scott; and brother, Harrison Scott.
Throughout her life, Alleen loved books, playing bridge, singing in her church choir, and traveling to new places. Being a part of the Spring Branch (Houston) community for over 50 years, she had a passion for giving back through volunteering at a local food bank. She had a deep faith that sustained her throughout her life, and she loved her church family at St. Andrew.
Alleen cherished her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
