

Andres Velez Osorio, 101, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on February 22, 2026, at 7:28 a.m. Born November 9, 1924, in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. He served in the National Guard for two years. He completed 8th grade education, which was a great accomplishment back then. His occupations were factory worker and after retirement, public transportation driver.
Andres married Carmen Matos Molina on March 2, 1952, in Santurce, Puerto Rico. March 2, 2026, would have been their 74th wedding anniversary.
Andres loved playing dominoes and being his partner required tough skin because he was very direct if you put down the wrong domino. He loved watching western movies and his favorite actor was John Wayne. Occasionally, he enjoyed shots of blackberry brandy. His favorite food was chicken and yautia.
Andres was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Velez, and his daughter, Carmen Velez.
Andres is survived by his sons, Andres Jr., David, Richard, Elliott, and William; and his daughters, Lillian, Gladys, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and god children.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 3-5pm at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494 followed by a Funeral Service from 5-6pm. Burial will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 12pm at Forest Park Westheimer. Please meet at the funeral home by 10:30am, as we will be traveling to Forest park Westheimer in procession. If you are not able to make the service on Sunday, the family invites you to pay your respects before the burial, at Katy Funeral Home, you may arrive starting at 9:00am
