

Argentina “Chiqui” Brigida Hernandez San Juan passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 89 years. Chiqui, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Habana, Cuba where she met and married her husband, Miguel. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
She received her teaching certification in Home Economics at Escuela del Hogar, Habana, Cuba and was also a member of the Catholic Church. Chiqui had a passion for cooking for her family, she was known for making the best flan, among many other Cuban dishes. She also enjoyed crocheting. She made many beautiful blankets for her family and friends who cherish the love and memories she sewed with each tiny stitch.
Chiqui was preceded in death by her loving parents and her beloved sister, Olimpia Hernandez. She is survived by her husband, Miguel A. San Juan, her children, Alina San Juan Jones, Miguel R. San Juan, and Marlene DeCarlo. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Patricia Wyrick, Michael Jones, Miguel P. San Juan, Marcus San Juan, Maximo San Juan, Andrew DeCarlo, and Madeline DeCarlo; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Reghan, Trystin, Coltin and Rocco, she is also survived by her sister, Emilia San Juan.
