

Babatunde Adebayo Omilabu, 85, passed away at The Methodist Hospital, Medical Center, Houston; on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, after a long and fulfilling life. He was born in Ibadan, Nigeria on November 21, 1929.
He attended elementary school in Oja-oba Ibadan and obtained his Engineering degree from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria. He was posted to Lokoja (now capital of Kogi State) as a Technical Officer in the Federal Ministry of Works where he rose through the ranks and worked in Northern Nigeria all through his career till he retired.
Baba Omilabu was a Christian who brought up his children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord. As a very patient and considerate person and a good role model as husband and father, he loved the Lord with all his heart, soul and might. His value of education is evidenced in his commitment to providing an opportunity to have all the children who passed through or came in contact with him; go through maximum education exposure, influencing each of them in a positive way.
Though a perfect gentleman, there was never a dull moment with him. He had an enviable sense of humor and always a fun to be with. He enjoyed watching soccer, his favorite soccer team being Manchester United.
Babatunde was dearly loved and will be missed by family, friends and all who know him.
He is survived by Children Olufemi & Olubukola Omilabu, Mojisola & Adesola Adurogbangba, Oluwole Omilabu, Olusola & Adetutu Omilabu, Olufunke & Babajide Ige and Bolanle & Ini Ukporo as well as grandchildren Ibukun, Olaoluwa, Kofoworola, Ayooluwa, Bolanle, Boluwatife, Temiloluwa, Atirola, Eniayo, Faramoluwa, Genevieve and Richards; great grandchildren Oriade and Jemima. He was pre-deceased by wife Florence Mosunmola Omilabu.
