

Beulah was born January 6, 1931 in Austin, Texas. Beulah received Christ early on in her life and she sang in the choir at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church of Austin, Texas.
She attended L.C. Anderson High School. She started off her love of caring for others by working with children at Austin’s state school.
In 1971 she moved to Houston, Texas with her son Michael and his family, and continued caring for others. She took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as friends that became family. She loved to be around people and her hobbies included watching sports, calling Bingo, gardening, playing cards, and frequent casino trips. Earth, Wind, and Fire aka The Elements, as she called them, and Blues singer and friend Albert Collins were her favorite artists. Astros and Rockets were top notch, if they were playing she was watching.
“Bebe” as she was lovingly known is survived by her son Michael Ates and wife Patsy, granddaughters Tiffany Walters (King), Taylor Jefferson, great grandchildren Kameron Walters, Camille Walters, Caleb Jefferson, brother Levi Winferd Murray, nephew Ronnie Murray, and a host of friends.
