

Brenda Gascey, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Jennings, Louisiana, Brenda was a beacon of strength, kindness, and joy to everyone who knew her. Brenda attended Jennings High School and dedicated her career to caring for others as a Nurse Aid at Memorial Hermann Hospital System. Her compassion and dedication were evident in every aspect of her life. Married to Jerry James Gascey Sr. for 52 wonderful years, Brenda was the heart of her family. They wed in Jennings, Louisiana, and built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Brenda had a passion for cooking and was best known for her delicious meals, which brought comfort and joy to her loved ones. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, surrounded by nature, and took great pleasure in sitting outside with her coffee, listening to the melodies of her wind chimes. An enthusiast of horror movies, she also loved to fish and solve crossword puzzles. Her favorite games were Candy Crush and Solitaire, which she played with great enthusiasm. Her favorite color was purple, a shade that reflected her vibrant personality. Brenda's legacy of love and kindness lives on in her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry James Gascey Sr., her children Jerry James Gascey Jr. (Rkyshia Emerson-Gascey), Joshua John Gascey (Jenna Gascey), Tizza Chanel Politte, and Eva Maria Below (John Below). She is also survived by her brothers Samuel and Johnny, her grandchildren KyJe Gascey, Javarcea Gascey, Adrian Daniels, Javion Gascey, Jeremiah Keyshawn Politte, Ethan Smith, John Below IV, Jasmine Scott, Ava Below, and Rayshona McPhaul, as well as her great-grandchildren Chris Scott III, Amara Scott, and Zhuri Gascey, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lorena and Sam Mouton, her sisters Adeline, Mary Ann, Loretta, and Mary Madeline, and her brothers Joseph Paul, Howard, Nora (Jimmy), and Junious. Brenda's family remembers her as one of the strongest, bravest, and kindest souls. Her unwavering positivity and commitment to others were unmatched. Her laughter and smile will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Brenda's memory to a charity of your choice. A celebration of her life will be held with details to be announced.
