Cecilia De Leon Jimenez nacio un 20 de Septiembre de 1941 en la ciudad de Madrid, España hija de Don Tomas De Leon y Señora Cecilia Jimenez. Cecilia asistio en el instituto San Isidro en donde recibio su licensiatura en administracion de contabilidad empresarial como su especialidad y, artes de lenguaje español como grado menor. Contrajo matrimonio y emigro de Madrid España, a Tegucigalpa Honduras en 1969. Fue empleada por El Cuerpo de Paz (Peace Corps) como profesora de castellano con quien trabajo por 8 años en donde recibio reconocimientos por su excelente labor y esfuerzo antes the Volver a emigrar de Tegucigalpa Honduras a Houston, Texas Estados Unidos en 1983 donde viviria por el resto de su vida.
La precedieron en la muerte sus padres Tomas De Leon y Cecilia Jimenez junto a sus hermanas, Julia De Leon Señora De Varona, Carmen De Leon Señora De Martinez, Josefina De Leon y hermano Gregorio De Leon Jimenez.
Cecilia disfrutaba mucho de su familia y es descrita por sus seres queridos y amistades como una mujer sabia, fuerte, cariñosa, y dulce. Fue fiel seguidora de la palabra de Dios siempre congregandose y hasta ser maestra de Escuela Dominical. Su receta favorita para eventos familiares fue la paella que quedará como una herencia en su familia.
Deja atras a sus amados hijos e hija, Gunther Mendez, Walter Mendez, Kenneth Mendez y Cecilia Arias nueras, Mari Mendez y Amelia J Mendez, nietos y nietas, Tommy Mendez, Natalie Mendez, Melissa Mendez, Irvin Mendez, Andrew Ma, Adrian Mendez, Abram Mendez, Walter Mendez Jr, Aileen Mendez, Ashley Mendez, Eric Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, Nathan Arias, bisniestos, Estella Mendez y Ayden Mendez, sobrinas, Maricarmen Martinez De Leon, y Mariceli Martinez De Leon, al igual de una multitud de familiares y amigos.
Cecilia fue una madre ejemplar, asi como tambien fue una abuela, suegra y amiga honorable que va ser tremendamente extrañada por todos que la conocieron.
Su ceremonia se llevara a cabo el dia Jueves 10 de Junio de 2:00 PM a 8:00 PM en la capilla de Rio Grande en la funeraria de Katy Funeral Home ubicada en 23350 Kingsland Blvd. Katy, Texas 77384.
Servicio funebre se llevara a cabo el dia Viernes 11 de Junio a las 10:00 AM.

Ms. Cecilia De Leon Jimenez, 79, of Madrid, Spain, passed away Sunday June 6, 2021, at 10:15am at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. De Leon was born September 20, 1941, in Madrid, Spain to Tomas De Leon and Cecilia Jimenez. Ms. De Leon graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Accounting, while also obtaining a minor in Spanish Language Arts from The Institute of San Isidro. She married and migrated from Madrid, Spain to Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 1969. In Honduras, she was employed by The Peace Corps as a Spanish teacher for a period of 8 years where she received recognitions for her excellent work and dedication prior to migrating from Tegucigalpa, Honduras to Houston, Texas, USA in 1983, where she then would live the rest of her life. Ms. De Leon enjoyed spending time with her family and was considered as a friend to all.
Ms. De Leon was preceded in death by her parents Tomas De Leon and Cecilia Jimenez along with her sisters Julia De Leon Señora De Varona, Carmen De Leon Señora De Martinez, Josefina De Leon, and brother Gregorio De Leon Jimenez.
Cecilia enjoyed being around her family and is described by her loved ones and friends as a loving, strong, smart, and sweet woman. She faithfully followed the word of God and became a Sunday Bible school teacher. Her favorite recipe for family events was Paella in which her family will inherit.
She is survived by her loving sons and daughter, Gunther Mendez, Walter Mendez, Kenneth Mendez, and Cecilia Arias. Daughters in law, Mari Mendez, and Amelia J. Mendez. Grandchildren, Tommy Mendez, Natalie Mendez, Melissa Mendez, Irvin Mendez, Andrew Ma, Adrian Mendez, Abram Mendez, Walter Mendez Jr, Aileen Mendez, Ashley Mendez, Eric Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, and Nathan Arias. Great Grandchildren, Estella Mendez, Ayden Mendez, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, as well as many friends.
Cecilia was an honorable Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday June 10, 2021, at the Rio Grande Chapel of Katy Funeral Home 23350 Kingsland Blvd. Katy, Texas 77384.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday June 11, 2021, in the Rio Grande Chapel of Katy Funeral Home 23350 Kingsland Blvd. Katy, Texas 77384.
The funeral service will be followed by a graveside service at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. 13001 Katy Frwy Houston, Texas 77079.
