

Charles Webster, born in Marsh Sitting, Kentucky, was a dedicated father, talented musician, and accomplished scientist who passed away October 24, 2024, in Katy, Texas. He was adopted by Kenneth Ray and Laura Alice Webster, and he is survived by his beloved children, Erin Leah Rios and Erick Laurence Webster, his younger brother Dillard Scott Webster, As well as the love of his life, his wife, Gail Renne Webster, together they shared a wonderful 16 years of marriage.
Charles's love for music blossomed in his youth as he played both the trumpet and saxophone throughout grade school and high school. His passion for learning led him to a career in education, where he taught Biology and Chemistry in El Dorado, Kansas. His journey took a significant turn when he moved to South Texas to become a Marine/Environmental Biologist and Water Quality Chemist for the state.
In 1970, Charles proudly joined the Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Sergeant. He later served in both state and federal government roles, culminating in his work as a Marine Biologist for NASA in his final years.
Beyond his professional achievements, Charles cherished the outdoors. He enjoyed sailing, camping, and immersing himself in nature. A passionate reader and a dedicated journalist, he found joy in expressing his thoughts and experiences through writing.
Charles will be remembered for his contributions to science, his love for his family, and his zest for life. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
