She met the love of her life, Fayne Sisco, during the summer after graduating from high school. Fayne would often spend time on dates teaching Claudia The Word, and not long after that, she
was added to the body of Christ through baptism and was a member at Southside Church of Christ in McAlester, Oklahoma. Her faith remained at the forefront of her life until her death.
Claudia and Fayne got married on July 31, 1964, the day after she graduated from Southeastern State University. They were married for 61 years.
Claudia began her career as a teacher, a profession she loved so dearly, teaching 3rd grade at Barnes Elementary near Oklahoma City. In 1966, she and Fayne would move to Texas, where
she began teaching at elementary schools in the Deer Park Independent School District. She taught third grade mostly.
Claudia’s reason for becoming a teacher was so she could take care of her children. Soon, Claudia and Fayne became parents to Karen and Kevin. After that, she took a hiatus from teaching until both kids were in school, so she could care for them with her full attention. When she returned, she worked for the Pasadena Independent School District as a long-term substitute
for fourth and fifth grade. Claudia also had seven grandchildren who she absolutely adored. She would often schedule regular outings with Kevin and Karen’s families so she could see and visit
her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren described her as nurturing, strong, loving.
Claudia was a devoted Oklahoma Sooners football and softball fan with a positive outlook on each game. She was also into genealogy and spent hours on Ancestry diving into her family’s history.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ruth Davis; brother David Davis; and daughter Karen Stover.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Fayne Sisco; son Kevin Sisco and his wife, Evie; grandchildren Austin, Connor, Emily (husband Levi), Alisha, and Kayla Sisco; Jennifer (husband Andrew) and Kelli Stover, and countless other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her presence.
