Colby McKelvey

Colby Tyler McKelvey was born July 14, 1997 in Chicago, Illinois, the only child of Courtnay McKelvey. At the age of 3, Colby and Courtnay moved to Houston Texas where Colby grew up and spent his life. Colby attended Cy-Fair and Seven Lakes High Schools where he focused his studies in S.T.E.M. Colby attended a S.T.E.M Summer Camp in Prairie View A&M University where he won awards for attaining the highest overall GPA and holding the highest exit exam score. Colby received his Associates Degree in Computer Science from Houston Community College.

Colby contributed significantly to several companies in his lifetime to include: The Home Depot, Amazon, Frito Lay, and Fed Ex. Colby was actively pursuing his Comp TIA A+ certification.

Colby held several passions that included a love for classic cars and firearms. He was known for his famous cast iron steak with fresh herbs and finishing butter. An avid gamer with a love for all things electronic, Colby loved to repair and rebuild computers and was actively developing video games. Colby was also a connoisseur of fine bourbon and whiskey.

Described by his family as selfless, loving, kind, patient , thoughtful,and generous. Colby had a heart for helping his family and his fellow man as evidenced by his volunteer work with organizations like H.O.P.E.

Colby was preceded in death by: his Grandmother, Allison Cashaw; Uncle, Marvin McKelvey; Aunt, Joy Barnes; Great Grandmother, Maxine McKelvey: Great Great Grandmother, Calllie Shepard; Great Grandfather, Jack McKelvey II, Great Grandfather Bradley King II, and Great Grandmother Gladys King.

Even though Colby’s time with us was brief, the impact he left on those who knew and loved him will endure. Left to cherish memories of a life well lived are: his loving Mother, Courtnay McKelvey; Grandfather, Bradley King III (Christal); Aunt, Melanie Wilmoth (Floyd, Xavier); Aunt Linda MCKelvey, Great Aunts Kay Perry (Wayne, Jason, Brittany, Trey, Isaiah) and Delores Floyd (Maverick, Carldeon, Cedrick Jr) cousins Juan K. Bolden, Crystal Taylor (Shon, Briahna ,Natalia, Brandon,Jordan), Twana MCKelvey (Londyn), Jack MCKelvey III (Jaiden), Thalan Chester, Christopher Breaux, Cheryl Baldrige (Edward), Shana Braggs (Stamon), Heather Thomas, Britini Jack (Bayleigh,Jeremiah,Khai) and a host of loving family members and friends.
