Craig Philip Campbell passed away suddenly on August 27, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy of love, quiet strength, and craftsmanship. He was born on December 29, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Philip and Marion Campbell.
Craig lived a full and meaningful life grounded in hard work, humility, and devotion to his wife, Joanna. He was known for his exceptional woodworking skills, his natural talent for building and fixing things, and his patience in restoring an old Ford truck — a labor of love that reflected his care, precision, and perseverance. Whether in his workshop or lending a helping hand, Craig found joy in creating, repairing, and sharing his knowledge with others. He worked most of his professional life as a salesman for Snap-On Tools and made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his sister Lynn Barkinge (husband Lennart Barkinge), four children: Amy Frank (husband Don Frank), Steven Campbell, Jeff Janek (wife Lindsay Janek), and Jennifer Brown (husband Larry Brown); his grandchildren: Taylor Frank (wife Chelsea Frank), Austin Frank (wife Caitlin Frank), Justin Marler, Jackson Janek, Colt Marler, and Finn Campbell; and his great-grandchild, Patrick Frank. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna Campbell; his parents, Philip and Marion Campbell; and his brother, James Campbell.
A memorial service will be held on September 5th at The Flatonia Baptist Church in Flatonia, Texas, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Craig’s life.
Craig Philip Campbell will be deeply missed, but the things he built — with his hands and with his heart — will stand as a lasting tribute to the man he was.
